What Are You Working On?
Pick your machine below. You do not have to know the size before you order —
our 6-size kit covers what these engines take. If you would rather be certain,
send us the model number and we will confirm it for you.
Lawn Mower
Walk-behind and riding mowers. The fuel line runs from the tank to the carburetor, and it is usually the first rubber part to harden and start weeping.
- Most walk-behinds take 1/4″ ID
- Small push mowers sometimes take 3/16″
- Riding mowers: check the tank outlet first
Sizes vary by brand and model. Measure the old line, or email us the model and we will confirm.
String Trimmer
Trimmers have a very short fuel run, which is why the line cracks long before the machine looks worn out.
- Most trimmers take 3/16″ ID
- Larger professional models often use 1/4″
- Check the grommet at the tank while you are there
Sizes vary by brand and model. Measure the old line, or email us the model and we will confirm.
Chainsaw
Chainsaws are hard on fuel line: heat, vibration and constant flexing. Replace it with the filter, not separately.
- Commonly 3/16″ or 1/4″ ID
- Most saws also need a new fuel filter
- Use a clamp at both ends — saws vibrate
Sizes vary by brand and model. Measure the old line, or email us the model and we will confirm.
Snow Blower
These machines sit for eight months a year, and that is what kills the line. Ethanol-blend fuel left in the system hardens rubber.
- Commonly 1/4″ ID
- Many models also have a separate primer line
- Replace both while the cover is off
Sizes vary by brand and model. Measure the old line, or email us the model and we will confirm.
Generator
Portable generators have a short fuel run and a lot of heat nearby. A cracked line here shows up as a machine that hunts or dies under load.
- Commonly 1/4″ ID
- Larger units sometimes 5/16″
- Inspect the line before storm season
Sizes vary by brand and model. Measure the old line, or email us the model and we will confirm.
ATV & Small Engine
Older ATVs, go-karts and pressure washers use the same NBR fuel line as a mower. Nothing special about the hose — the routing is what differs.
- Commonly 1/4″ ID
- Add a new inline fuel filter
- Keep the line away from exhaust and moving parts
Sizes vary by brand and model. Measure the old line, or email us the model and we will confirm.
Or email us your brand, model and year and we will tell you exactly which one to cut.
