Description
An inline fuel filter you can open, clean and put back. The aluminum housing holds a pleated stainless steel element, and both end fittings unscrew — twelve adapters in the box cover 5/16", 3/8" and 1/2" hose barbs plus 6AN, 8AN and 10AN threaded lines, so the same filter goes onto whatever fuel system you are working on.
What's in the box
- 1 filter housing — black anodized aluminum, 4.87" long, 1.25" outside diameter
- 2 stainless steel elements — 100 micron, one pre-installed, one spare
- 12 adapters — 5/16", 3/8" and 1/2" barb (2 each); 6AN, 8AN and 10AN (2 each)
- 1 mounting bracket — 50 mm clamp with 80.3 mm bolt spacing
- 1 hex wrench for the end caps

100 micron — what this rating is for
A 100 micron element catches particles down to 100 micrometers. That suits carburetors, low-pressure pumps and the first stage of a two-filter setup.
The trade-off is what gets through: a 100 micron element stops debris and sediment but lets the fine silt past, which matters on fuel injection. It is the right first stage, not the only stage.
Where it fits
Gravity-fed and pump-fed fuel systems on small engines, motorcycles, ATVs and cars, plus any line you are building with AN fittings — EFI conversions and engine swaps included. The adapter range is the point: 5/16" and 3/8" barbs cover most stock fuel lines, and the 6AN, 8AN and 10AN ends go straight onto braided AN hose.
The element lifts out for cleaning, so a dirty filter is a ten-minute job rather than a new part. Keep the spare element in the glovebox and swap it roadside.
Before you fit it
Check the element direction first. Unscrew the cap, and confirm the element sits with its closed end against the spring and its open end facing the arrow. These units occasionally ship with the element reversed — it drops straight in either way round, and a backwards element restricts flow and can shed debris downstream instead of trapping it. It takes thirty seconds to check.
Mount the body with the arrow pointing toward the carburetor or fuel rail. Match the adapter to the hose or fitting you already have, and measure the outside diameter of your barb rather than the old hose — hose swells with age and reads a size larger than the fitting it sat on. If you are between sizes, go up and add a clamp rather than forcing a hose onto a barb it does not fit.
Not sure which rating you need? The 10 micron version uses the same housing, the same bracket and the same 12 adapters — only the element is different, so you can switch later without buying the kit again.
